While I was pregnant I read Ann Voskamp's book One Thousand Gifts. I was so inspired and I wept openly as I realized how unthankful I am on a daily basis. Not only was I aware of my own thanklessness but I was struck with the images she conjured with her writing, how she saw the beauty in the dishes and how she saw beauty all around her home and farm. If she can find beauty in the everyday chores than I should be able to see it in my own life. I started writing down the things that I am thankful for but then I had a baby and was so busy tracking eating, sleeping and pooping that I haven't touched my journal in four months. Over the weekend we were listening to music and rocking the baby to sleep and I realized what a beautiful moment I was in the midst of on an ordinary Saturday. So I had a stroke of brilliance. I will start posting daily something that I am thankful for or that I found beauty in during that day.
I would love it if you would join me and do the same. How uplifting would it be to see a Facebook status feed full of links to things that are positive?
Please comment if you will be doing this on your blog and eventually I will get a linky up so that we can keep track!

I have a journal that I write stuff down in that I am thankful for. I cannot post everyday but could do a weekly wrap up of what I am thankful for. I love the idea and I would love the girls to see it one day. Thanks for sharing!
I've been reading this book as well and am totally inspired. I've found myself more conscious of things I'm thankful for all day long since I started reading it. I've been thinking of making my own list of 1,000 things or adding a thankfulness blurb at the end of each post.
It's a great book! And I love that it's moving me to think beyond myself and get in touch with gratitude.
yay, so glad you girls are on board. Lets do this, on Fridays I will post a Thankfulness post and you can add your own links! I will start next week when I am back in town.
Oh and Michelle, I added your blog to my blog list. How did I not know you had a blog?
